Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pick and choose the classes I want to take?

No, the program must be taken in its entirety as each class builds upon previous course topics. The cohesion and safety within the group is also built with each subsequent class.

What if I have to miss a class?

Obviously life happens, but a huge part of this program is the community built when people show up with consistency and with vulnerability. There is a significant loss to the group when participants don’t show up to class. Many of the concepts build upon each other, so missing a class can make integrating the information more difficult.

Because much of this course is body-centered and experiential, an audio recording will not be a proper substitute for actually attending. Prior to signing up for this program, it is essential you do your best to commit to attending all eight weekends. If you have to miss a class, you're welcome to ask a classmate to record the class for you.

Does this program come with a certification?

We believe there is no certification or stamp of approval required to connect with another human at a heart level. As many people taking this program have already sought certification in other modalities, we believe the concepts taught at the Vitalist School serve to deepen the experience of guiding another on the path to healing. We believe it is our right as humans to serve each other, and to reconnect with kindness, love and empathy to the innate wisdom within us. What you embody in the Vitalist School will connect you to your own innate freedom through which you can better serve others.

Do I have to be a practitioner to be in the program?

While this program has been written and designed for practitioners, it is not essential that you are a practitioner. Most skills learned are applicable to family or friends, and anyone taking the course will have an opportunity to do their own transformative work due to the nature of the content. Please fill out the application, and let us know why you want to take the course even if you are not studying to be, or are currently in practice.

Is there homework or required reading?

Because of the depth of material we are working through in this course, your time outside of class reading and studying will be essential to embodying the information. You can start reading the books as soon as you decide you're taking the program. The required reading is incredibly rich and dense, and it wouldn't hurt to read them multiple times. After each weekend, we do ask participants to engage with some at-home practices (30-40 minutes a day). These at-home practices ensure that the embodiment continues and students are taking responsibility for continuing their inner work outside the weekend gatherings.

Where will the classes be held?

All classes are in-person and take place in Sparta, Michigan. Nestled on 27 wooded acres, the 1600 sq. ft teaching studio provides a retreat feeling. This will be the first year at our new location and we're so excited about the beautifully remodeled ceremony space that will hold you. We will send you the address before the first weekend of class.

What about food and lodging?

Lunches will be catered and students will share a full kitchen (oven/range, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, etc. ) for breakfasts and dinners on your own. We'll also have multiple accommodation options onsite. During the warmer months, students are invited to camp on the land. We also invite you to stay after class on Saturday nights to use the hot tub, cold tubs, sauna and bonfire pit for some deeper integration and connection.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your journal, yoga mat, comfy clothes, and a waterbottle and/or mug for coffee or tea (preferably with a lid to prevent spills).
